    Nova Camera, DSLR California College of the Arts student Erin Fong developed this DSLR camera concept to update the digital camera form factor. Nova camera takes the standard DSLR format and modifies it by splitting the control over two arms putting all the control right at the user’s finger tips. The arms can move around the central lens allowing a multitude of picture taking positions. The design is perfect for right and left-handed users and can even be operated with only one handle, borrowing from the camera phone style of picture taking. The design aims to explore the form of the camera now that it isn’t dictated by the conventions of film. DesignBoom

    Shop directly from over 300 designers and artists this weekend at the California Market Center (110 East 9th Street - Map It) Hi Lads and Lovers! Ok, was that cheesy? Sorry I was trying to toss a little alliteration in there for effect. Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA and inconsistent as of late, I’ve been terribly busy… Anyhoo! Most of you may know or maybe you don’t but LoveBIRDS has a show coming up.. The biggest independent design show on the west coast to be exact! You need to be there. Come and spend the day with us and spread the word to your friends. You will be supporting local design and helping our businesses thrive so all our hard work pays off, so what’s not to love!? Not to mention partial proceeds are going to the local non-profit 826LA which supports students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills. There will be drinks (you get one FREE), Gift Bags (Shepard Fairey has done the artwork), and we’ve also partnered with the fab crew at the Eco blog Your Daily Thread to bring you cool workshops and surprises throughout the space! Two more things… Come say hi! Introduce yourself to me… tell me you saw this on Tumblr, and I’ll give you a discount. Also! I have free wristbands, and I’ve set a couple aside for you all because you’re so wonderful and I appreciate all your love and support.     Have You Ever...

    Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you’re
    going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to
    be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the
    direction from which you came, you have to first do something like
    check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to
    yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you’re
    crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk?
